A medical examiner has ruled that late Joan Rivers died from low blood oxygen during a routine medical procedure.
Joan had died on 4 September, a week after she suffered cardiac arrest during a procedure at a Manhattan (U.S.A.) clinic to check out voice changes and reflux.
The 81-year-old star died from “anoxic encephalopathy due to hypoxic arrest”, or brain damage due to lack of oxygen, a spokeswoman for the city’s medical examiner said yesterday (Thursday, October 16, 2014).
