‘Johnny’ singer, Yemi Alade keeps flying high, her ‘Mama Africa’ album most pre-ordered in Africa

-“We didn’t pay anybody for it” – manager says

Dreams really do come true! From winning Peak Talent Show in 2009, talented Yemi Alade has shot to the top of the pile. Now, her forthcoming “Mama Africa” album has the most pre-order requests in Africa. A true quantum leap!

The energetic performer and Effyzzie Music signee is set to drop her sophomore album on Friday, March 25, 2016, but the excitement and anticipation is reaching unprecedented levels on online music store, itunes, where the album has soared to the top of the website’s slider with the most pre release requests.

Encomium.ng checks on the Apple-owned itunes website revealed that the album, classified under Afro-Pop, goes for $10.99 (about N2200), yet this hasn’t stopped the pre-orders from rolling in.

Confirming the report, her manager, Taiye Aliyu said: “Mama Africa now has the most pre-order requests in Africa.” Explaining further, he added: “When people place order for an album or song, it goes up the slider. We didn’t pay anyone for it.”

“Mama Africa”, subtitled “The Diary of an African Woman”, features with A-list acts like Kenyan group Sauti Sol, Rotimi Keys, Selebobo, Flavour, Sarkodie, DJ Arafat and P Square.
