Jovago, Microsoft donate 1,000 footballs to school children

Jovago Nigeria has entered a strategic partnership with Microsoft and the Joint Initiative Development group by supporting the advancement of youth and sports across the country through the donation of 1,000 footballs at a public launch which held in Lagos.

Through the project, more than 5,000 children in urban and hinterland communities will get the opportunity to advance budding talents and play the world’s most passionate sport.

This move which forms an integral part of its corporate social responsibility initiative strengthens the Jovago ‘Care for a Life’ project which seeks to contribute to the growth of local communities and empowerment of young leaders in Nigeria.

Adam Grant, Business Development Manager for Jovago who was at the event believes that this “is an important avenue to invest in the next generation and teach them essential skills like teamwork, dedication and hardwork.”

Also speaking at a media parley, Kayode Ajayi-Smith of Joint Initiative for Development (JID) said, “our mission is to be able to present the soccer balls to the needy population through the schools, teams and such structures as well as open opportunities for the beneficiaries to be able to develop and play in friendlies and tournament matches with Concord Carlisle High School, MA soccer team and such other school teams in the USA.

The launch which took place at the Microsoft Nigeria Office, Ikoyi, Lagos, had dignitaries such as Barrister Seyi Akinwunmi the first vice president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and Wale Adetula, marketing and communication manager DHL, West Africa in attendance.

Jovago was created in 2013 by the Africa Internet Group and with MTN, Millicom and Rocket Internet as principal shareholders, has the mandate to improve e-commerce service delivery while offering the most affordable hotel booking rates to its customers.
