Kefee, My Lagos, ‘Lagos is where champions from different parts of the country converge’

The best selling debutante is challenged by the ambitious people scattered around the city of Lagos…

Where do you live in Lagos?

I don’t think I will like to disclose that but I like where I live. It’s okay.

What’s your earliest Lagos experience?

I came to Lagos late 1999 and it was fun because then we used to live in Surulere and I was still in school so I came into Lagos once in a while. It was really cool. I always had fun.

Where were you born and where did you grow up?

I was born in Sapele, Delta State and I grew up there.

What do you like most about Lagos?

Lagos is a place where champions from different parts of the country meet. Everybody wants to come to Lagos and I see ambitious people. I like challenges; I see things that challenge me to want to do better, to want to improve on my work. That is one of the things I like about Lagos. In Lagos, you see lively, lovely and funny people.

What do you hate about Lagos?

The traffic, God! The traffic and it’s because of the population, but people are still coming in. Some areas in Lagos really stink, those are the things I hate about Lagos.

When you are outside Lagos what do you miss most?

What I miss about Lagos is the liveliness. It’s not that other places are not lively but I miss my friends, my family, and my uncle. I don’t get to see them unless I come into Lagos.

How do you move around Lagos?

I move around in my car or sometimes in my husband’s car. Sorry to say oh (laughs) I like entering molue, believe me. I just leave my house and go somewhere like Maryland and come back home (laughs). I just like it, I love staying around people, people that I have never met, the noise, I like it.

Where do you shop in Lagos?

I shop anywhere on Allen…Anywhere I see anything I like, I go there and get it.

Where is your favourite hangout or pub?

I really don’t hang out, but when I want to go out, I go to White House Club in Ikeja. That is about that for hanging out.

Who is your Lagos favourite celebrity?

My favourite as in musician or actor? I don’t know if she is in Lagos but I really like her. She is Patience Ozokwor, I love that woman, I so much appreciate her. I like 2Face, yeah. Everybody likes 2Face, he is nice and when I heard him singing my song, Branama, he really murdered the song, he was like (I will report you to your grandmamma eeh), it was really funny. I don’t know how he composed it but I really liked it.

What are your hobbies?

My hobbies? I love swimming a lot even though I am not a very good swimmer, but I love water and I love cooking (laughs).

What new projects are you working on now?

Branama 2, with my friends. Some of my friends in the music industry, I just featured them. So, it’s going to be a collaboration stuff, Kefee with friends.
