THE abductors of Mr. Steve Nwosu’s wife, Toyin, are demanding a ransom.  When ENCOMIUM Weekly called him on Monday, September 14, 2015, he told us he was in a meeting with some people discussing the ransom.

This is how the conversation between us and Mr. Nwosu went:

MR. AND MRS. STEVE NWOSU
MR. AND MRS. STEVE NWOSU

Good morning, my brother.

Good morning.

I am from ENCOMIUM Weekly. We just want to confirm…

(Cuts in) Yes, it is true.  I am with some people to see how we can raise the money for them.  I will call you back (he went off).

When we later called Mr. Nwosu back in the afternoon and evening to know the amount the kidnappers were demanding, he did not pick our calls.

Mrs. Toyin Nwosu, a 40 year-old mother of four children was said to have been abducted right in the presence of her family, from their Okota, Amuwo-Odofin, Lagos residence around 2.30 a.m on Monday, September 4, 2015.

The robbers were said to have forcefully made their way into the family house after robbing another house in the neighbourhood. They reportedly took Toyin when it was apparent that there wa no money to steal. They were said to have escaped through the canal around the Amuwo-Odofin axis.

Mr. Steve Nwosu is the Deputy Managing Director/Deputy Editor-in-Chief of The Sun Newspapers.
