KOK makes case for unambiguous communication in Professor Johnbull

Kanayo O. Kanayo, Nollywood great and lead character in Globacom’s entertaining television drama series, Professor Johnbullwill seek to drive home the essence of clear and unambiguous communication in Tuesday’s episode of the show.

Entitled “Speak the Word”, the new episode of the programme will be shown at 8.30 p.m. on NTA Network, NTA International on DSTV Channel 251 and NTA on StarTimes.

The data grand masters said in a press statement in Lagos that “Speak the Word” was chosen as the title of the episode to underline the importance of communication and intelligibility in society, especially at a time when a lot of youths believe that they can only be regarded as successful or be said to “belong” when they speak in slangs and other obscure languages.

“Viewers will come to terms with the essence of clear and unambiguous communication as they sit back to watch their darling Professor Johnbull which treats the issue of copy-cat in a more comic and equally didactic manner in ‘Speak the Word’. We have no doubt that the episode will resonate with a lot of our Been-To youths who come back to the country with foreign accent and incomprehensible slangs”, Globacom said in the statement.

It added that questions that will be addressed in “Speak the Word” include: what is the essence of communication? Is Professor Johnbull himself also guilty of bombastic grandiloquence? What happens when communication breaks down? Do our youths tag along in the use of slangs just to be relevant? What is good communication?

Glo ambassador and renowned rapper, Jude Agaba, popularly known as MI, will make a cameo appearance in the episode in which he will play the role of a Nigerian New York City-based returnee.

The episode also parades the regular characters such as Professor Johnbull (Kanayo O. Kanayo), Olaniyi (Yomi Fash-Lanso), Caro (Mercy Johnson Okojie), Flash (Stephen Odimgbe), Ufoma (Bimbo Akintola), Jumoke (Bidemi Kosoko), Etuk (Imeh Bishop), Mai Doya (Funky Mallam) and Samson (Ogus Baba).

The repeat broadcast of the episode comes up at 8.30 p.m. on Friday on the same TV channels.
