Where do you live in Lagos?
I wish the answer was Victoria Garden City, but I currently reside on College Road, Ogba.
Where were you born and where did you grow up?
I was born in Ibadan, I had my primary school education in Air Force Primary School, Lagos and I went back to Ibadan for my secondary school, then I went to Ogun State University, Ago Iwoye and I served in Niger State. I had a stint in Lagos over a year, doing some office work so to speak before I went back to Abeokuta, to OGBC, before I came back to Lagos.
What’s your Lagos’ earliest experience?
Back then in primary school, we were more like butter people. We were taken to school and brought back home so we didn’t have the chance to like interact, you know danfo or molue style. But I remember going to the Bar Beach almost every weekend or to the National Arts Theatre to watch movies back then. The ACs were working and I remember going to the Federal Palace Hotel where I eat peppered chicken.
What do you like most about Lagos?
I like the possibilities in Lagos, the possibilities of what you can do. What you achieve is simply just limited by how creative you can be, how you can harness your potentials and come up with something even in the face of nothing.
What do you hate about Lagos?
Traffic, driving, NEPA, fuel scarcity, landlord and hold up on the road. Sometimes when you drive it’s really bad, that’s why you have to invest in a car that has air condition.
When you are out of Lagos what do you miss most?
The energy, the vibrant nature, there are sometimes I found out that when I go outside Lagos, maybe within Nigeria or out of wherever, sometimes you wake up in the morning and you are like yo-yo, you now remember that you are not in Lagos, then you now come back to yourself. When I leave Lagos I can sleep in the afternoon, which is not possible here.
Where do you shop in Lagos?
I shop on the Island, I don’t know Tejuosho well so I shop at Marina side. I buy stuff there, then I have people who bring stuff to me like shoes, clothes.
What’s your favourite hangout in Lagos?
I don’t do too much hanging out here but business at times takes me to White House. I socialize there, meet people.
Who is your favourite Lagos celebrity?
Richard Mofe Damijo, I like his style. Alli Baba, I like what he started with a vision, which has translated into cash for people that chose entertainment for a living.
How do you move around Lagos?
I drive myself and have a lot of people that work with me, drive me and sometimes I like it when they drive.
What new project are you working on?
Next Level Entertainment, and the national dance competition. It’s something new and something different. We are working on a new TV programme to give Global Sounds a run for its money. We are going to compete against ourselves.
