Lagos pilgrims return from Mecca

The first batch of Lagos pilgrims to this year’s (2017) holy pilgrimage to Mecca started returning. They arrived at Mohammed Muritala Airport at exactly 9.30 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2017, aboard a  MedView Airline flight . Those who came in that flight are said to be  450 with three officials .
The pilgrims who looked fresh and well taken care of were welcomed by the Lagos state commissioner for Home Affairs, Dr Abdulhakeem Abdullateef and the Lagos zonal Coordinator of National Hajj Commission NAHCON, Alhaji Mubarak Abdulwaheed.
According to the Media Assistant to the Lagos  Commissioner for Home Affairs, Mr Olalekan Murisiku, two batches of the pilgrims totalling 800 will be arriving the country on Monday, September 18, on two flights .
The commissioner for Home Affairs in his welcome address to the pilgrims praised the Lagos state governor, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, for providing medical centres, Nigerian foods and other facilities for the pilgrims from the state.This, he said, helped tremendously in taking good care of the pilgrims.
A total number of 2,332 pilgrims left from Lagos to perform this year’s hajj.
