Lagos postpones retreat after Tinubu’s death

Lagos state government has postponed indefinitely the on going retreat at Jubilee Chalet , Epe, due the untimely death of  Mr Ayodeji Tinubu, the Special Adviser to the  governor on Commerce , Industry and Cooperatives, who died while playing football with his colleagues during the retreat .
The retreat’s theme : Effective Strategic Planning For An Emerging Smart City, was between members of the Executive Council and Permanent Secretaries in the state and had commenced that Thursday, January 25, 2018, morning.
As part of the retreat’s programme, a novelty match was arranged between members of Exco and permanent secretaries in the evening of that Thursday .
Encomium.ng gathered that the novelty match did not start until the late Mr Deji Tiunbu, who  with the new commissioner for Commerce , Industry and Cooperativeness, Mrs Olayinka Oladunjoye were with the governor came to the mini football field.
Though the Exco members lost the match by a lone goal, the late Tinubu was said to be the man of the match going by his dexterity on the field of play.
The match was in the second half and barely 10  minutes to its end when he made a loud noise before slumping to the ground.
All efforts to resuscitate him by the medics who were on standby proved abortive. He was later taken in an ambulance to Epe General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead.
