LagosHOMS contractors urged on early completion

In its bid to ameliorate the housing shortfall in Lagos, the Lagos State Government has urged contractors handling LagosHOMS Housing projects across the State to speed up work for early completion.

The State Commissioner for Housing, Prince Gbolahan Lawal, who gave the task while inspecting some ongoing LagosHOMS projects at Gbagada IIB, Iponri and Amuwo Odofin, stated that early completion of the projects would fast-track the provision of affordable homes for Lagosians.

He reiterated the commitment of the State government to creating enabling environment for economic growth through massive housing construction, adding that this is also in line with the present administration determination to reduce shortfall in housing needs.

Lawal advised contractors to work closely with residents in the various communities where the projects are sited in order to enhance community participation and ownership of the projects.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Housing, Arc Foluso Dipe,  advised the contractors to adhere strictly to their work programme in order to achieve the proposed completion dates, adding that if necessary, they should employ more hands to do the job.

Responding, the Project Coordinator, Amuwo Odofin LagosHOMS Estate, Arc Adeleke said all the contractors have been fully mobilised and are on site to complete their works, while also giving assurance that they are working round the clock to ensure timely completion of the project.
