Lanre Gentry denies calling Mercy Aigbe a lunatic: ‘I can’t abuse or insult my wife publicly’

Contrary to social media report, Lanre Gentry, husband of popular actress cum film maker, Mercy Aigbe, has denied ever insulting or abusing  his estranged wife. He added that it’s a mere fabrication.

Reacting to the post when encomium.ng contacted him on Thursday, May 4, 2017, the popular hotelier expressed discomfort about it. He described the report as nothing but false, labeling those behind it as mischief makers. He insisted he never granted anybody any interview since the news about himself and his wife started trending on social media, let alone abusing her.

“How can I say that to my wife?  I can’t abuse or insult my wife publicly, it’s not done. So, I don’t know where and how they got what they posted. Besides, I have not even granted anybody any interview since. It’s nothing but a lie. I am right here in the hotel, you can come to confirm.”

However, we got to the hotel, La Veronigue, on Oregunwa Street, Oregun, Lagos around 6.30 pm same day, but the Ilesa, Osun born businessman declined any further comment. He insisted we should get across to the Edo born thespian first before he could make any comment on the issue which we complied with, but all efforts to hear from Mercy proved futile as all the calls put through to her mobile phone were ignored.

All encomium.ng’s efforts to make Gentry comment on the publication were rebuffed. He insisted we get his wife’s reaction before he can make any statement on the troubles in their union.

Meanwhile, the Ilesa, Osun born entrepreneur was reported to have said that his estranged wife is suffering psychological problem. But when encomium.ng contacted him, he denied it all.
