Lanre Gentry finally leaves prison after one week

Olanrewaju Gentry, the estranged husband of star actress, Mercy Aigbe, remanded in Kirikiri Prisons for his inability to meet his bail conditions on Tuesday, May 9, has finally regained freedom seven days later (on Tuesday, May 16, 2017).The hotelier and auto merchant, remanded in the breach of the peace, physical assault and causing grievous bodily harm case before Mrs. Y. O. Aje Afunwa of Rosaline Omotoso Court in GRA Ikeja (Lagos), eventually fulfilled his bail terms of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum. 

Facing multiple charges supervised by the Office of the Public Defender, Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Response Team of Lagos State, the 52 year old father of four children faces a total of 7 years if convicted.

The sensational and salacious troubled marriage of the 38 year old mother of two children and her husband of seven years has dominated the media in the last few weeks. 

Accusations and counter allegations of infidelity, dereliction of duty and domestic violence sometimes leading to grievous bodily harm and hospitalisation have entertained Nigerians.

And now husband and wife are in court.

While the case before Mrs. Davies Abegunde of Ogba, Ikeja magistrate restraining and stopping him from beating his wife was adjourned to Wednesday, May 17, the criminal matter before Mrs. Y. O. Aje Afunwa comes up again on Wednesday, July 12, 2017.
