LATE PASTOR AJANAKU’S CHURCH MEMBERS CRY OUT ‘Media has not been fair to us’

It’s no longer news that Christ Revival Victory Chapel International led by late pastor Ajanaku has suffered a lot of controversies in recent times, especially since the saga between gospel singer, Tope Alabi and the late pastor ensued.

ENCOMIUM Weekly visited the church on Sunday, May 18, 2014. The media department of the church complained bitterly about how the media has been writing false stories about them.

The media department of the Christ Revival Victory Chapel International told ENCOMIUM Weekly about their bitterness on Sunday May 18, 2014, after the church service. They said a lot of things that have been published about them were not true.

“Most of the media houses didn’t consult us before publishing their stories, while some will come and conduct interviews only to go out there to publish untrue stories. The owner of an entertainment journal contributed to all the untrue stories flying around town, despite the good deeds of the late pastor towards him. We are not interested in formenting troubles, otherwise we would have sued most of these soft sell magazines for libel.” These were words from the media department. However, they said they will grant interviews when the need arises.

WHERE WILL HE BE BURIED? Despite the disagreement between the family and the disciples of late Prophet Ireti Ajanaku over his burial plans and date, ENCOMIUM Weekly gathered that he would be buried in Lagos. Although, the family preferred either his Lagos home or hometown, Gbongan, Osun State, they decided to respect the deceased’s wish to be buried at his church in Lagos.

HOW THE CHURCH IS RUN – Since the death of the controversial clergy, his widow, Joy, has been in charge as the general overseer of the ministry. Information available to ENCOMIUM Weekly revealed that she has been in charge of ministrations at Sunday services since her husband’s demise.

We reliably gathered that she has been the brain behind her late hubby’s online stuffs, books and tapes before his demise. However, due to the myriad issues she is having with the family, we gathered she is still in a rented apartment at Abule Egba, Lagos.

AJANAKU’S LAST HOUR – The whole palaver began on Sunday, August 18, 2013, when it was reported that the controversial clergy passed on, on Saturday, August 17, 2013, at Gbongan, Osun state. Few hours later, it was announced that he had resurrected. ENCOMIUM Weekly later gathered that his church members brought his corpse to Lagos and started a vigil, praying for his resurrection. However, on Thursday, August 22, 2013, he was certified dead by a team of doctors. His corpse was deposited at the Military Hospital, Yaba, Lagos, on Friday, August 25, 2013. While the family members knew their son was dead, the church members still held on to the belief that he only went on a spiritual journey.
