From Friday, May 6, 2016, Lekan Shonde was on the run, boasting that he could disappear in Lagos for 30 years.
Frantic efforts to locate him failed, until his friends (Sunday Nwaobi and Gbenga Sholuki) persuaded him to surrender to the Police since he maintained that he didn’t kill his wife.
And in the morning of Monday, May 9, 2016, he was brought to the office of the Commander of Rapid Response Squad (ACP Tunde Disu) accompanied by his friends and popular blogger, Chris Kehinde Nwandu. He was later moved to the office of Lagos Police Commissioner (Fatai Owoseni). He was detained at Special Criminal Investigation Department in Panti, Yaba.
