‘Life is all about sharing’ – Timaya

The MTN Surprise Campaign which debuted on November 1, has been a delight for many Nigerians who have been opportune to be a part of the pleasant surprises being dished out by Nigeria’s leading telecommunications and ICT company, MTN.
At the commencement of the MTN Surprise Campaign, the company surprised Nigerians by positioning popular musicians and artists where they are least expected. Self acclaimed ‘Egberi Papa One’ of Bayelsa, Timaya, surprisingly became a customer service personnel at the MTN Service Centre in Matori, Lagos, as he was seen attending to customers’ complains and requests. Many of the customers were wowed by this pleasant gesture as surprise and excitement was written all over their faces.
Apart from sharing those awesome moments with MTN customers at the centre, Timaya also shared some freebies and gifts to the customers. He shared so much, and when asked, he said “In sharing, we touch lives, we meet needs, we comfort people, we make people happy and we make our world a much better place to live in. In a nutshell, life is all about sharing”.
Customers who thronged the various MTN service centres across the country also had their share of surprises as Sound Sultan was at the MTN Service Centre in e-centre, Yaba, Lagos, while Limpopo crooner, KCee was at the Port-Harcourt centre to thrill his teeming fans. Yoruba comic act, Saka, stormed the Ibadan centre to surprise MTN subscribers.
The artistes at various centres didn’t just stop at attending to customers’ complains and requests, they took the surprise package to another level, as they doled out eye-popping gift items to the teeming subscribers. It was fun all the way, as some of the artistes also took their time to give a dose of their musical and comic acts to the audience and on-lookers, while taking photo shots with their fans.
Mavin Record’s Dr Sid gave an entirely different surprise package to Lagosians during the week as he was on board one of the free MTN bus rides. Dr Sid, boarded the Yaba bound bus at Idi-Iroko bus stop, to the delight of the commuters. After boarding the bus, he announced himself as the official bus conductor for the trip, to the amazement of the passengers. The Surelere crooner treated commuters to his hit songs, Surulere and Over the moon. Not done yet, he went further to unveil more surprises, as he shared free MTN recharge cards in the bus. Dr Sid enjoined the commuters to creatively tap into this season of surprises to create pleasant surprises for their loved ones, as such gestures would go a long way in bringing joy into the lives of many.
The MTN Surprise Campaign commenced on November 1, 2014. According to the Chief Marketing Officer, MTN Nigeria, Mr. Olubayo Adekanmbi, the strategic crux for the initiative is to encourage love, care and unity among Nigerians.
