List of Nobel Peace Prize winners for 2017 so far

Every year, the Nobel Peace Prize is awarded to remarkable individuals who have made outstanding contributions to benefit mankind. The award ceremony is often held in Oslo, Norway, and is announced by the Norwegian committee. The Nobel Prize ceremonies for Physics, Chemistry, Physiology or Medicine and Literature, Economics are held in Stockholm, Sweden.
Unlike every other year, this year (2017) is not an exception as the Nobel Peace Prize were duly awarded to those that deserved them.

Here are the list of Nobel Peace Prize winners for 2017 so far, as compiled by encomium.ng:

1. Physiology or Medicine

– Jeffrey C. Hall (American)

– Michael Rosbash (American)

– Michael W. Young (American)

The winners were announced on Monday, October 2, by Thomas Perlmann, Secretary of the Nobel Committee for Physiology or Medicine.

 

2. Physics

– Rainer Weiss (German-born American)

– Barry C. Barish (American)

– Kip S. Thorne (Amercian)

The winners were announced on Tuesday, October 3, by Göran K. Hansson, Secretary General of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

 

3. Chemistry

– Jacques Dubochet (Swiss)

– Joachim Frank (German-born American)

The winners were announced on Wednesday, October 4, by Göran K. Hansson, Secretary General of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.

 

4. Literature

– Kazuo Ishiguro (Japan-born British writer)

The winner was announced on Thursday, October 5, 2017.

 

5. Peace

– International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons

The winner was announced on Friday, October 6, 2017, by Berit Reiss Andersen, Chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee

 

6. Economics

The prize will be announced on Monday, October 9, by Göran K. Hansson, Secretary General of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences.
