List of wealthiest Nigerians conflicts with Forbes’

There is a list of ten wealthiest Nigerians, reportedly published by Forbes magazine, which is far different from the ranking released by the prestigious media platform for 2017.

The trending list has the following names and networth:
1. Alhaji Aliko Dangote – $12.5 billion
2. Dr. Mike Adenuga, Jnr  – $10.5 billion
3. Mr. Femi Otedola  – $2.3 billion
4. Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija  – $2.1 billion
5. General Theophilus Danjuma – $1.7 billion
6. Alhaji Abdulsamad Rabiu  – $1.5 billion
7. Mr. Tony Elumelu  – $1.4 billion
8. Chief Orji Uzor Kalu – $1.1 billion
9. Mr. Jim Ovia  – $1 billion
10. Mr. Oba Otudeko  – $650 million
This list is at variance with the recently released ranking of world’s richest people which had 2,043 billionaires with only three Nigerians.
The Nigerians listed by Forbes in 2017 ‘The World’s Billionaires’ are:
1. Alhaji Aliko Dangote at number 105 with $12.2 billion
2. Dr. Mike Adenuga, Jnr, $5.8 billion at number 250
3. Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija, $1.6 billion, number 1,290
Even this afternoon (Saturday, April 1, 2017), only these three eminent Nigerians are on the list in the real time ranking.
At 5:30 pm, here’s how our compatriots stood:
1. Alhaji Aliko Dangote, number 108, $12.3 billion
2. Dr. Mike Adenuga, Jnr, number 257, $5.9 billion
3. Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija, number 1,320, $1.6 billion
Where’s the other list from?
