Love at COSON on a Valentine Day to remember

It is just incredible how little ideas can sprout and become great things especially when there is a meeting of minds. ‘Love at COSON’ was such a little idea which made the 2017 Valentine’s Day a truly fun filled day at the Opebi Lagos office of Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON). It was a blast!

Happiness and joy were in the air with many people dressed in red and green, the colours of the day. Yes, there was a Valentine cake, some barbecue on the grill, some small chops and a bit to drink but there was a whole lot of dancing as the unstoppable Deejay Marine worked the wheels of steel and pumped the sound.

The COSON Garden, beautifully decorated in Valentine colours had never witnessed such great live music from an array of very talented stars. The band was good. The sweet voice of Azeezat, the Queen of Love, serenaded one and all on a coolTuesday evening and everyone swooned to every line that she sang. The vivacious, sexy and delectable Stella D’Lyte grooved to the beat and sang her heart out. The very hot KASI, the June 12 Girl, arrived at the COSON Garden’s red carpet in style on her hot red power bike and held everyone spellbound with her songs, Ifunanya and Lovinjaitis making waves across the nation.

GWILZ, the Prince of the Streets who is lyrically licensed to kill, killed it with a medley of rap songs that kept everyone standing on their feet and cheering. With GWILZ, it was obvious to everyone that a great new rap sensation is born. There was DOLZI, the King of Melody with a unique voice and equally unique dance steps. There was of course KUL-GP, the star who insists that he does not look like Reekado Banks but it is Reekado Banks that looks like him. Ghanaian born KizKheli had a good show. Rub-a-dub Master, Ras Kimono had an unplanned wow moment on stage.

It was dance – agog when the workaholic Chairman of COSON, Chief Tony Okoroji hit the stage with his TOPS All Stars to do a live version of his new hit song, Happy Music. There was free-for-all gyration on the dance floor. The dance floor just could not contain all the people who wanted to party to Tony Okoroji’s Happy Music.

‘Love at COSON’ was designed to reduce the stress of the ever hard working staff of COSON, give those members of COSON and  friends of the society in the media and elsewhere who did not plan their own individual Valentine parties, a chance to also enjoy happiness on a day dedicated to love and happiness.

Mr Chibueze Moses Okereke, the COSON Head of Corporate Affairs, who was MC at the event warned everyone that there was only one item on the agenda: FUN.

Love at COSON was a hit. Before everyone left, the repeated question was “will it happen again next year?”
