Man admits stealing $5m violin, jailed for seven years

A man who masterminded the stealing of a $5 million (N850m) Stradivarius violin admitted yesterday, Monday (November 10), that he used a stun gun to attack a musician carrying the 300-year-old instrument in Milwaukee, Wisconsin (USA).

Salah Salahadyn (42) claimed he intended to sell it to help people he believed were wrongly evicted from an apartment building he managed, but judge Dennis Moroney rejected the argument and slammed him with a seven-year jail term.

In addition to his seven-year prison term, Salahadyn was ordered to serve five years of extended supervision.
