Shoppers and staff were left shocked after they witnessed a man fall to his death from the third floor escalator at Debenhams’ flagship store in central London yesterday (Wednesday, November 5).
Five shoppers who witnessed the death of the yet-to-be-named man were treated for shock afterwards.
Police and paramedics were called to the West End Debenhams’ store on Oxford street at 6:15pm, but the victim could not be saved. A Metropolitan police spokesman said of the incident: “Police were called to Debenhams in Oxford Street to a man who had fallen from an escalator.”
