20-time Premier League champions, Manchester United are expecting to post a revenue loss of £40million next year, the club revealed as it released its figures for the year today (September 10).
The Premier League club revenue for 2013-2014, as revealed today (September 10), is £433m, but the club expects that, following their failure to qualify for this season’s Champions League, the figures will drop to between £385m-395m.
In addition to the club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League, another factor responsible for the expected decline in revenue is the cost of sacking David Moyes and his coaching staff after just 10 months in charge, which cost the club £5.2m; while the club’s gross debt under owners – Glazers – was recorded at £341.8m, down £48m from £389.2m.
