‘Marrying Muma Gee was the best decision I ever took’ – Prince Eke

PRINCE Eke has more or less been off the social radar since his high octane marriage to his singing sensation partner, Muma Gee early this year.  Recently, his beautiful wife staged a talk-of-the-town birthday bash for him in Port Harcourt and his public rating began to take shape again.

In an exclusive interview with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Thursday, September 27, 2012, the thespian spoke fondly about his marriage and acting career.

What do you like about been married?

Being married to your best friend is sweetest.  It makes you feel excited and very blessed.

What attracted you to her in the first place?

I have always believed that when I see the woman I will marry, I will know.  When I saw her something just told me she is the one.

Where did you meet her?

I met her at the Redeemed Church at Magodo, Lagos.

You courted for long before you finally decided to marry her?

We didn’t court.

So, what happened?

I proposed to her the day we met.  That same Sunday, that I saw her. I paid her bride price two months later.

How did she react when you proposed to her?

She laughed at me and said, “You really think you can use that to get into my parts?”

What was your response?

I said to her don’t you think at my age, I have had enough of sex? I want to marry you, nothing less. I even wanted it earlier but her people said no, that we should take just two months to get acquainted.

Did you know her before you proposed?

I had never seen her physically.  But I heard about her and listened to her songs.

So, it was her looks that attracted you?

I won’t say it’s her looks. My spirit accepted her. It’s my inner man that accepted her.

You proposed to her because of instinct?

Sort of.

So, what are you learning about her?

She is a wonderful woman to be with.  Marrying her is the best thing that happened to me. She is like a mother to me.

What has marriage changed about you?

A lot has changed. I now see things from a different angle as a married man.  I do not react on impulse anymore. I seek the opinion of my partner before I take any vital decision.  I also respect her feeling too before I do anything.  I am calm now compared to before.

What new things are you learning about yourself?

With marriage I have come to realize that one can actually just ignore certain things for the sake of peace.

What new things have you learnt about her?

She is actually a different person on stage.  She is a great woman, wife at home and Muma Gee on stage.

Tell us about the bash she staged for you in Port Harcourt?

It was a surprise birthday party. I was held spellbound when I got to the venue.  All my friends from Lasgidi were there.  She proved herself as a worthy partner that day.  I love her more.

Your guests were?

Dignitaries from Rivers State.  My friends and colleagues.

Tell us about being the director of her newly released musical video.

Working with her was professional.  We worked as professionals but it was fun working with her.

You are no more active in movie making.

I am very active.

Any new work?

Yes. I just finished a movie entitled, A Minute of Silence from the stable of Magic Movies.

Is your wife featuring?

No.

Few weeks back there were speculations that your wife is pregnant, is it true?

No comment. I am not in her womb to know.

How many children would you like?

Six.

What’s your daily routine as a celebrity couple and how do you unwind?

I am a very busy person.  But I make out time to be with my family and I also play basketball at my leisure.
