‘SHE HAS NOT SAID THE TRUTH’
Multiple-award winning on air personality, Matse Uwatse-Nnoli is still bitter with Aim Group, owners of Nigeria Info for terminating her job when she needed it most.
Matse, however, in a phone chat with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at about 2.20pm, declined further comments on the raging controversy trailing her sack.
“I think I have said enough. I don’t want to talk about it again”, she simply stated.
When asked about her next line of action, she also told ENCOMIUM Weekly that it is under wraps.
“I will arrange myself first. With time, people will know what I’m into. It I will even speak for itself”.
News of Matse’s sack from Info FM went to town days back. Sources alleged that the pioneer staff of Wazobia FM, another member of Aim Group (there is also Cool FM) was fired for playing with her job shortly after she got married. She was also accused of not putting up the right attitude at work.
But Matse would take solace in the social media where she explained why she lost her job. Her story:
“Dear all, compliments of the day to you. I believe a lot of you must have heard of the recent termination of my job as an OAP (On Air Personality) on 99.3 Nigeria Info FM. Well, it is true. I have read on several blogs that I was sacked for being arrogant, rude, etc. even recently that I lacked discipline. I if lacked discipline, I wouldn’t be successful in my career.
“I believe discipline, integrity and honesty go hand in hand with true success. Ask those who have met and known me and they will tell you that this is what I live for. I am not perfect. I have made mistakes but who is perfect?
“I prefer to be silent on matters like this but since silence is assumed to be consent, I will not consent to my hard earned reputation being dragged to the gutters. I worked too hard for it. On September, 21, 2013, while I was on admission at First Consultant Medical Centre, Lagos, I received an email while on my sick bed announcing my termination.
“Honestly, I was not angry but a bit shocked. I had been too sick lately due to my pregnancy and was not at my best but I expected my company to be supportive of me. Yes, I wanted them to be supportive of me because I have worked hard over the years to bring them much glory.
“I know that I will see all sort of articles and comments to discredit me but I simply ask this of you all: if you have ever met me and I was unpleasant to you, feel free to vent but if you don’t know the real me and all you have heard are insinuations, hold your peace.
“I love people and always wish them well. My mentees and honest colleagues will testify to this. I love progress because I believe the sky is big enough for all the birds to fly. I believe when one door closes, another one opens. I have served you well over the years and brought you accolades.
“So, please let me go in peace and insiders in the organization who do not like guts should not use it as an opportunity to tear me down. I am a good person and you will know this”.
Matse Nnoli moved to Nigeria Info two years ago after working with Wazobia FM. She walked down the aisle on Saturday, July 13, 2013, with her lover of many years. She, however, surprisingly lost her job shortly after her marriage.
Contacted to officially react to Matse’s sack on Friday, September 27, 2013, the management of Nigeria Info said they would do that at the appropriate time.
“Matse is not saying the truth. She was not sacked because she got married or pregnant”, Mr. O.J Adaba, Head of Stations (Cool/Wazobia/Info FM) told ENCOMIUM Weekly.
