Meet MTN Project Fame Season 7 finalists

Molding ordinary people into superstars is a process you can describe as herculean. MTN Project Fame has not done badly in that regard. Over the years, Iyanya, Praize, Chidimma, iMike, Kesse, Monica and many others have been transformed by the mastery and professionalism of Project Fame’s Faculty members and judges with the support of MTN. After eight intensive weeks of competition, the finalists, among whom the latest superstar will emerge, have been announced…

EMEKA (6)

A student of Abia State University. His slow start notwithstanding, he has put in so much work to become a true contender for the ultimate prize. He had one of his best performances when he rendered Flavour’s

Ada Ada.

GEOFFREY (8)

He stands out for his vocal quality and commands the judges’ respect for being able to deliver almost perfectly every song. He showed mastery and character that astounded even Paul ‘Play’ Dairo who described him ‘a superstar’ the day he performed one of Majek Fashek’s hit songs.

Except for the votes that have not been coming his way,  God knows why  the Ghanaian is truly an entertainer. His calmness is almost ingenious, his character is outstanding. He showed that last Friday when he performed once again 2Face’s African Queen.

The judges never stopped mentioning how hard this lanky young man works. Ever since he sang Under the Surface and came in for the judges sticks, he seemed to have improved with every performance.

This lively Port Harcourt lady is incredible. Whether she is rendering a song by KCee, Tiwa Savage or 2Face, she never allowed herself to be intimidated by the demand of each song. She is always on point. She has done so well and has never been on probation.

DEBBIE (4)

She had a rough time last week when she sang 2Face’s If Love is a Crime but she made up for that on Sunday. TY-Mix remarked that the ‘slim-shady’ is still searching for her true vocal range. With a place in the finals already, one only hopes she finds that.

CLEMENT (2)

A lot of people wish this lad from Ghana did not sustain the injury that confined him to the wheel-chairs for weeks. Though he walks on crutches now, his determination is enviable. He provided sufficient cover-up, in terms of vocal dexterity, for his disability and roused the feeling of sympathy when he sang Michael Bolton’s Back on My Feet Again.

DANIELA (80)

If only those who couldn’t make it through the auditions would embrace the Wild-Card. It was first Ella but this extraordinary lady is charging up to beat the record. Having spent lesser time in the academy than the rest of the contestants, a place in the final is already a big leap for her.
