Mercy Aigbe wins Round 2: court restrains estranged husband

The marital mess of star actress Mercy Aigbe and her hotelier husband, Lanre Gentry, is getting dirtier by the day. With a restraining order granted by a Lagos magistrate court on Tuesday, May 2, reconciliation is elusive.

After winning the first round following overwhelming support by the public after she was allegedly battered by her husband of seven years, the actress has again won the second round in court.
Filed on Thursday, April 27, before Mrs. Davies Abegunde in Ogba, Ikeja (Lagos), the case (FC/AL/25/2017) was decided on Tuesday, May 2, and adjourned till Wednesday, May 17.
The magistrate ordered: “Having seen the application from the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Response Team dated 27th April, 2017, and having read the affidavit of the Applicant consisting of 25 paragraphs as dated 28th April, 2017, and having seen the photographic evidence of the domestic violence and the scan report from a medical center attended by the Applicant, the Respondent herein, Olanrewaju Gentry of No. 14, Oregun Street, off Epe Close, Oregun, Ikeja is hereby restrained from commiting any further acts of domestic violence against the Applicant with immediate effect. He is also restrained from going anywhere within a one mile radius of the Applicant and the two children in the custody of the Applicant.”
