Mike Adenuga loses cousin to breast cancer

Globacom chairman and Nigeria’s second richest man, Otunba Mike Adenuga Jnr. (GCON) is bereaved! He just lost one of his first cousins, Mrs. Funmi Suinner.

Mrs. Funmi Suinner who is the owner of Conoil Petrol station at Lekki, Phase 1 Roundabout, Lekki, Lagos, succumbed to death on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, in a London hospital where she was being treated of breast cancer.

ENCOMIUM Weekly gathered that Mrs. Suinner had been battling the ailment for some time now. As a matter of fact, it was her cousin, Otunba Mike Adenuga Jnr, who arranged for her to be taken abroad for treatment and was responsible for her upkeep in the London hospital.

Mrs. Funmi Suinner was the only daughter of her mother, Mrs. Osunanmi who is 89. It was when her aged mother was worried about her whereabouts and was already insinuating that she was dead that, she was forced to come back to Nigeria to see her mother.

After seeing her for few days, she went back to London to continue with her treatment. It was during the treatment that she was said to have passed on. She is survived by her 89 year old mother and six daughters among whom is Anne Suinner-Lawoyin, first runner-up to Agbani Darego, in the 2001 edition of Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant.

She (Annie) later became the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria when Agbani became Miss World. If what we are gathering is anything to go by, her remains may be brought back to Nigeria this week.
