Mixed reactions greet Buhari’s war against corruption (2)

President Muhammadu Buhari’s fight against corruption has sent jilters down the spines of some corrupt public office holders. And the exercise has started yielding the desired results.

Although, some Nigerians have been criticizing Buhari’s approach, alleging sentiment and partiality. Those that ENCOMIUM Weekly sought their views on the issue also poured out their mind…

‘IT’S ALL MEDIA NOISE AND PROPAGANDA’

– Vivian Ekechi

I am not by any means impressed with the so called anti corruption campaign so far because there has been no substance to it. And this is more than two months after APC took over power. It’s all media noise and propaganda. That’s what we’ve been served so far, hopefully things will change.

‘APC MAKES NOISE TO SCORE POINTS’

– Kolade Olanrewaju

The problem I have with this APC government is that it blows everything out of proportion. Not only that, they make noise to score points. Maybe they don’t realise the elections are over and that it is time to sit and work.

How can they claim they have the list of oil thieves, only for them to come out and deny it again. What sort of game is that? They are taking us for granted.

‘PRESIDENT BUHARI’S WAR AGAINST CORRUPTION IS A STEP IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION’

– Lowo Adegbenjo

President Buhari’s war against corruption is a step in the right direction. Now, he has created fear in the mind of every public office holder in Nigeria. With that alone, people will sit up in their respective offices. I think he should continue the crusade and very soon all the people involved in embezzling our common wealth will be exposed and prosecuted.

The only thing he should not allow to happen is sparing his corrupt party members. Left to me, I am pleased with the way he is going about it.

‘CAN HE SUSTAIN THE STRUGGLE?’

– Yemi Shotayo

Not that Nigerians don’t welcome Buhari’s current war against corruption but the question is “Can he sustain the struggle?” And the reason for this is not farfetched, it’s just about the so called cabal who will want to truncate his effort.

But if he doesn’t mind whose horse is gored, he will succeed and we will get rid of corrupt practices in the public sector.

‘HE HAS MADE A LOT OF EFFORT TO STOP CORRUPTION’

– Abiodun Omolola

He is doing fine. Nigeria would have collapsed if not for God and the kind of president we have. He has made a lot of effort to stop corruption. Thank God for him. He should continue in his fight against corruption. He should not forget the promises he made during his campaign too.

‘I THINK HE IS REALLY FIGHTING’

– Abigail Eniade

I think he is really fighting. I wasn’t his fan before, but now, I have changed my mind. God will surely help him. He should not relent in his effort. He shouldn’t tolerate party politics too.
