MKO Abiola’s son picks father’s Centenary award

One of the sons of pillar of democracy, late Bashorun M.K.O Abiola received the Centenary award in Abuja from President Goodluck Jonathan this evening – contrary to reports that the family will reject the honour.

The young man (one of the sons of late Kudirat Abiola) even presented the President a document which appears to be a book.

He beamed as he shook hands with the President.

Bashorun Abiola won the June 12,1993 Presidential elections which was annulled by General Ibrahim Babangida (one of the honourees). Abiola later died in detention on July 7,1998 when General Abdulsalami Abubakar (another recipient  of the centenary award) was Head of State.
