‘Mama taught us to respect everyone’ -CHIEF MELINDA MODUPE OYADIRAN
The CEO of Melmoya House of Beauty, Dupe Oyadiran, began the burial of her mother in grand style at Foursquare Gospel Church, Alagomeji Yaba Lagos. The event which started with wake keep on Thursday, June 4, 2015, followed by funeral service on Friday, June 5, 2015, with interment at Ikoyi Cemetery. ENCOMIUM Weekly spoke with Dupe Oyadiran.
How do you feel today?
I feel so happy because I know my mother is in the bosom of God, and the most important thing is that she is resting with God. But I am not happy that I will not see her anymore.
What would you say you miss most about her?
Her passion, she was a woman that once you are sad, as soon as you appear to her, she knew exactly you problem, and even without telling her anything she would just advice you. You would wondering what a woman she was. Without telling her anything she would tell you everything from your mood.
What have you learnt from mama?
I have learnt a diamond, that is respect. When you see people, give them their respect, no matter highly placed you are. Mama was so religious, and the act of evangelism was so important to her.
