A 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO Berlinetta – one of only 39 models made – has sold at a record-breaking £22.84 million (N6.5 billion) at auction.
The Ferrari-owned car had competed in a number of races, including one which ended in tragedy when, in 1962, driver and former French ski champion, Henri Oreiller, lost his life.
The wrecked car was repaired and the family continued to race it until very recently.
