MTN unveils new brand ambassadors, premieres new songs and videos

Telecommunications giant, MTN, has added a new set of artistes to its rich list of brand ambassadors. At an event held on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, in Victoria Island, Lagos, the company unveiled, amongst others, Enetimi Alfred Odom, popularly known as ‘Timaya’, and fast rising hip hop artiste cum Headies award winner, Seun Morihafen, a.k.a Sean Tizzle.

The unveiling completes an exclusive constellation of some of Nigeria’s finest hip hop artistes who are doing amazingly well in their musical careers and also serve as MTN’s brand ambassadors.

According to the Chief Marketing Officer, Larry Annetts, “The unveiling marks the beginning of a better life and connectivity between the company, the artistes and consumers through digital possibilities, especially downloads of Callertunez and access to exclusive digital music distribution services which it provides.”

The addition of Timaya and Sean Tizzle brings to twenty-one (21) the number of MTN brand ambassadors. Banky W., Harrysong, Dr. Sid and Sound Sultan were recently announced as the ICT company’s brand ambassadors just as the contracts of Iyanya Mbuk, Wizkid and a host of others including Yaw, Nedu, Mama Gee, Saka and Nkem Owoh, a.k.a Osoufia, were renewed.

At the event, new singles, Praiz’s Mercy and Timaya’s Bow Down, were premiered asides musical videos by Chidinma and Tiwa Savage, while Kcee used the occasion to present a mouth-watering prize to the winner of his Fine-face Competition.

Also premiered was the collaboration between South Africa’s duo of Theo Kgosinkwe and Nhlanhla Nciza, a.k.a Mafikizolo, and Nigeria’s Davido. The trio premiered the song titled, Tchelete, which also means ‘Goodlife’. Theo Kgosinkwe, one of the South African duo, was obviously elated as he enthused that the song was the best collaborative work he has ever done with any foreign artiste.

In attendance were Oritse Femi, Ghanaian diva, Rebecca Acheampong, known as Becca, Vector, Ice Prince, Solid Star and the crème-de-la-crème of the Nigerian music industry and media such as Dayo Adeneye, Kenny Ogungbe, Ayo Animashaun, TY Mix and various on-air-personalities like Olisa Adibua, Yaw and Comedian Tee-A. Fans were thrilled by the latest addition of new ambassadors and premiered videos and songs.
