Nigerian youths are set for a weekend of fun as the novel initiative, #MTN ‘Celebdouble’, organised by MTN ambassadors, climaxes with a club invasion in Lagos, Benin and Enugu, on Friday, April 4, 2014.

The #MTN Celebdouble, which began a couple of weeks ago, is a search for the telecommunications giant’s brand ambassadors and musical superstars look-alikes; and, interestingly, thousands of youth from different parts of the country have been sending their pictures in hope that they match their favourite artistes.

The two closest splitting images, of each of the artistes, will be hosted and treated to a great night of fun and music with a rare opportunity to parley with the artistes at the party; in addition to special VIP arrangement for the most striking look-alikes of the artistes. The artistes are Davido, Wizkid, Iyanya, Don Jazzy, Kcee, Harrysong, Tiwa Savage, Chidinma, iMike, D’Prince and Praiz.

Meanwhile, these artistes have been talking about the initiative. In a recent interview, Praiz, the winner of Headies Best R & B artiste award for 2013, said, “The idea behind #MTN Celebdouble is to bring Nigerian music fans closer to their favourite artistes, parley and also share a rare moment of fame with the superstars”.

“It sure will be a good time for me and the fans out there,” he enthused.

Also, Tiwa Savage, the Eminado crooner, one of the brand ambassadors, sounded excited at the prospect of meeting someone who most likely looks and probably behaves like her. She mentioned that she had been discussing this possibility with the other artistes and looked forward as well to completing a most memorable night of high level entertainment with her fans.

With the Nigerian music industry taking giant strides in registering its presence on the globe, indigenous artistes have been coming up with different initiatives, of which the #MTNCelebdouble is one, to ensure there is a stronger affinity between the industry and its fan-base.
