+Narrates European tour experience
Famous entertainer, Ahalji Mukadas Eyiwunmi, popularly known as Muka Ray has rubbished the tale that he is no longer in good terms with pretty actress, Iyabo Ojo for allegedly unveiling a new lead actress in his caucus. He added that the tale is neither here nor there as there is no iota of truth in it.
Speaking with ENCOMIUM Weekly on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at an event in Ikeja, Lagos, the Aran-Orin, Kwara born actor cum musician further described the tale as baseless and uncalled for, labeling those sponsoring it as mischief makers.
He also spoke on his recent trip to Europe where he showcased his music talent and much more.
How would you describe your career at the moment?
My career as an entertainer is booming. I give Allah the glory for that.
Few months back, you came back from Europe where you showcased your music, Oba Alujo. How would describe the experience?
Yes, I travelled to Europe, and it was a fantastic musical tour. It has also added to my exposure. It even made me realize the kind of love people out there have for me. I went to France, Holland and the UK and other places where I showcased my Oba Alujo music. It was a fantastic tour. Any time from this moment, I will go back. Most of them up there didn’t know I am also good in music until they witnessed my performance. They were all surprised that I could sing fuji.
What’s your band called?
It is called Golden Mercy, Oba Alujo.
Do you restrict yourself to fuji, or you do any other genre?
I don’t restrict myself to fuji. I sing every other genre. It’s a kind of live band. And we perform at social engagements. We thank God, we’re gaining more recognition as we grow.
Now, between acting and singing, which do you concentrate more on?
I would say both. You’re also aware of the fact that theatre is my first love. I was born into it, and I have never done any other thing apart from entertainment. So, I can’t quit acting for music, or any other thing.
But to be honest, music is paying off. I am getting more engagements now. The higher we go, the better it becomes. Don’t forget I am also a master of ceremonies.
I combine everything to make ends meet, and I thank God. I have never been disappointed. And I know God will never fail.
There is a tale that you and Iyabo Ojo are no longer in good terms over an alleged unveiling of another lead actress in your caucus…
(Cuts in) That’s rubbish, it’s baseless and uncalled for. Iyabo Ojo and I can never quarrel. I believe you know our story very well. You also know that both of us have come a long way in the industry. So, those peddling that are only looking for a way of causing disaffection between us.
Who is the actress they’re even talking about? You don’t need to be listening to rubbish. After all, we are not dating but we have been friends for long. I am sure if you ask Iyabo that question, she won’t be happy with you. So, you just have to ignore the rumour mongers.
