IMG_20140326_002736How does it feel being Queen of Aso 2013?

I feel blessed. I feel honoured and grateful to God. He is indeed the reason for my victory.

What was the secret of your success?

I would say my confidence, self belief, innovative approach to our tasks during camping. I feel this really put me in good position for the crown.

How did you know about the beauty contest?

I got to know about it through a very good friend who believed in me and I also went further to surf the internet to get more information about what the pageant was about and how to qualify for it.

What was your experience in camp?

Wake up, do my morning prayers, exercise and house chores, then I go out to face my daily task.

While in camp, there would be a time where you thought things were not going the way they should. What kept you going?

I must say that my passion and hunger, throughout the camp experience and the event proper was my most potent strategy

If you did not emerge winner, who do you think would have taken the crown?

Queen Hausa (Miss Hadassah Benson) because she has all it takes to be a beauty queen. Beauty and brains work side by side in any contest and she got it all. I also saw her as a threat as well.

IMG_20140326_075240Do you have intentions of coming up with a pet project and what would it be about?

I am working on a pet project called, National Youth Empowerment Summit which is aimed at creating an avenue for brain-storming on ways youths of Nigeria can be effective in the economic development of our country, Also, to encourage the youths to shun corruption, violence, cultism, rape and indecent dressing and encourage them on how to develop their talents and skills. The launch of the project was held on Monday, March 24, 2014 at the, National Merit House in Abuja. It had in attendance, Chairman of the occasion, Mr. Mike Omeri DG-NOA, Mother of the day, Mrs. Onyeka Owenu, keynote address by Mr. Linus Okorie, Dr. (Mrs.) Merit Obua-Wife of the CSO to the president Federal Republic of Nigeria and other personalities

What has changed about you since you emerged winner Miss Aso?

Nothing really has changed about me. I’ve always been respectful, simple and a very effective personality from birth. But the burden that comes with the crown has really brought out the multi-tasking attributes in me.

How challenging has it been so far?

It has not been easy because this post as small as it is comes with a lot of challenges. My pet project, social challenges like, people on the look out to take advantage of you, trying to correct the wrong perceptions about beauty queens in my immediate circle, etc.

Once your reign as Miss Aso Abuja is over, what do you intend doing?

After my reign, I’ll definitely fall back to my family and friends, and continue building my career as a young woman. I hope to further my pet projects.

What were the prizes given to you and have you redeemed your price?

I was given a brand new Hyundai Accent, N1.5 million, one year free hair care and representing Nigeria in the Miss Naiades Beauty Pageant 2014. I have been given all of the mentioned prizes, so I do not have any problem with the organizers concerning that.

How do you intend spending the cash price?

My money will be saved to help finance my MSc programme which I hope to enroll in after my NYSC programme.
