New Nokia 3310: Nigerians await worldwide sales between April and June

The iconic handset, Nokia 3310 which was released in the year 2000 now wears a new look 17 years after – and it’s back with a much cheaper price tag, attractive features and still-very-impressive battery life. The original Nokia 3310 sold 126 million units worldwide, making it one of the world’s best-selling mobile phones. The rebranded version of the phone was made and announced by HMD Global, a private equity-backed firm created explicitly to make new Nokia phones.

Days after the new Nokia 3310 was announced, the reception has been awesome as people can’t wait for the effective global distribution by April – June 2017.

Nigerians are excited about the phone as many believe the new Nokia 3310 is another means of refreshing old memories in the mobile technology world. A lot of people, especially adults, can relate in one way or the other when they talk about Nokia 3310 because it used to be one of the most purchased mobile phones in the country and globally.

‘I AM VERY HAPPY TO SEE NEW VERSION OF NOKIA 3310’

– Mr. Leke Akande

I started using mobile phone with Nokia 3310 in the year 2002 and it’s a good thing to see the rebranded version of the same phone. I really look forward to buying the phone here in Nigeria if it’s not too expensive.

‘NO MOBILE DEVICE COULD STAND NOKIA 3310…’ – Samson Aro

Nokia remains unbeatable in the league of mobile phone manufacturers. No mobile device could stand Nokia 3310 when it was released some years back. I can remember the phone is being used by the rich alone years back. It’s not only strong, it also comes with unique features and look. I’m sure the rebranded version can never stand the old 3310 but it’s a good thing to have the rebranded version back in the market and I look forward to buying one.

‘NOKIA HAS DONE THEIR MAGIC AGAIN’ – Ejiro Onaha

I have told my uncle who lives in the UK to help me get one when coming to Nigeria. I really love the idea because a lot of mobile manufacturers now make sophisticated devices but Nokia has done their magic again and it’s even cheap. I heard the phone is not up to 50 Euros. It really a good development to have Nokia 3310 back in the market in a whole new look and colours.

‘IT’S REALLY GOOD TO HAVE THE NEW NOKIA 3310 REBRANDED’

– Matthew Asumo

I’m buying one because it comes with torchlight. That’s one good thing I like about Nokia products. It’s really good to have the new Nokia 3310 rebranded.

‘NOKIA 3310 IS THE BEST’

– Mrs. Favour

Too bad we don’t have the phone in the market at this time, I really look forward to buying one when the device is everywhere to buy. I have two mobile phones at hand right now but none can actually serve the purpose of a Nokia phone. The torchlight, battery life and durability is why I’m going for the new Nokia 3310.

‘I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE ONE WHEN IT’S OUT’ – Sunday Ugbe

I used to have one Nokia 3310 back then, I call it Nokia palasa. I will like to have the rebranded version when it’s out, not for any purpose, but to see what has changed in the phone.

‘I REALLY MISSED THE OLD NOKIA 3310 BUT I WILL DEFINITELY BUY THE NEW NOKIA 3310’ – Austin Ifianyi

When growing up, there were only two phones in Nigeria Nokia 3310 and others because that’s the only phone that can fall on hard floor and still bounce like nothing had happened. I miss the real Nokia 3310 but I will definitely buy the new Nokia 3310.
