Artistes who won in one category or the other on the night couldn’t hide their joy at clinching the coveted prizes…

It feels good. It feels really good, it is a privilege. A lot of work from all of us at Five Star. This will make me work harder, you know, to whom much is given, much is expected.

NIKKI LAOYE, WINNER BEST SOFT ROCK/ALTERNATIVE VIDEO…

For me, Only You is a song strength and power which is dedicated to my  father whom I lost three years ago. Every time I get an award for the song, I’m excited and I give God all the glory.

SUSPECT, WINNER BEST AFRO HIP HOP VIDEO

Ah! I feel good. I don work tire now. I work this year so, I deserve am. No other person wey deserve am, na me deserve am.

NIYOLA, WINNER BEST R’N’B VIDEO…

I’m really shocked, because I didn’t expect that I would win. I just came to perform and grace the occasion. A lot of things have happened to me this year. I had an accident and I fell really sick which took me off for a while. But today, I’m here and I’m grateful to know that people appreciate what I do and that means a lot to me.

MC GALAXY, WINNER BEST USE OF DANCE

I’m so happy, it feels great! God will bless all my fans. The award means a lot to me. This year has been good, but 2015 is going to be great. I am going to be the biggest, I will drop the album of the year. I’m taking over.

KEMI ADETIBA, WINNER BEST VIDEO DIRECTOR

Oh my God! I don’t think it’s sunk in yet. Probably when I settle down and get to stare at the award, it will all sink in. I’m still a bit frazzled. Well, I try not to base my work on awards. So, it wouldn’t seem that if I don’t win an award, my work isn’t good. But it’s amazing winning an award. You can’t say no to a great award. It’s like someone is saying that I recognize you put in the work.

Great! It feels great. Winning an award is always great. This award is for Nigerians, maximum respect to them for supporting me.

TUNDE AND WUNMI OBE (TWO), WINNER BEST USE OF COSTUME

This award means a lot to us. First, it’s like a booster for the brand T.W.O. It means that after being in the music industry for 26 years, we’re still seen as relevant. That is real validation.

At the same time, it’s also quite humbling. Our category was quite stiff. We had extremely talented artistes competing for the award. God is awesome, my brother.

How does it feel achieving success for eight years running?

Eight years running. It feels cool, feels great. Tiring sometimes. Can be frustrating, especially when you are not getting the kind of support that you should by now be getting. First, we are happy that the show is going on. It is our ambition that the show should outlive us. We are happy that it’s happening.

Would you say this year’s edition met your expectations?

Yes, it did. It even surpassed my expectations.

In what way would you say this year’s show is better than last year?

We are more cause-driven this year than we we’re last year, so I’ll say in that regard the show’s better.
