NIGERIANS ADVISE BUHARI (2)

Since Muhammadu Buhari took over the mantle of leadership of Nigeria, on Friday, May 29, 2015, Nigerians, home and abroad have been clamouring for immediate end to corrupt practices in the country as pledged by the new president.

Some Nigerians ENCOMIUM Weekly spoke to also advised the new government to keep to its promises in this direction…

‘BUHARI SHOULD BE SINCERE IN HIS ADMINISTRATION’ – Chidi Ibeh

Jonathan’s administration committed a lot of blunders, sincerely. But one that really irked me every time was the way his presidential aides on publicity and media couldn’t keep their mouths shut. They were always talking.

Be it Doyin Okupe that likened him to Jesus Christ, to Fani Kayode that just kept on spewing whatever flashes through his mind to even Reuben Abati. Let’s not even talk about his wife, that is a matter for another day. They acted uncultured like it was a do or die affair.

Sometimes, they could even be likened to women quarrelling. I just hope Femi Adesina and Garba would be different. And I hope that Buhari will be able to shut them up if the need arises, else they’ll talk him into trouble.

‘HOPE BUHARI WILL NOT BE LIKE JONATHAN’- Precious Adebayo

I used to admire Jonathan as a person, even voted for him. But if you are not a thief, and you know that someone is stealing and do nothing to stop such person when you can, for me, you are equally a thief. You can’t surround yourself with ineptitude and corruption and claim to be clean, it’s not possible.

That was the case of Jonathan, he did not take a strong stand against corruption and stealing by those closest to him in government. Another thing was that Jonathan talked himself into trouble, especially during his media chats. Buhari, I am hoping, will not be like that.

‘END INSURGENCY AND SOLVE PETROL PROBLEM’ – Chinedu Anaehi

He should work on the power sector, make sure we have stable power supply. End insurgency and solve petrol problem.

‘I KNOW HE WILL DO BETTER’ – Chris Oluwole

I think he is heading towards the right direction. Power supply has improved since he took over. He is also seeking international assistance toward ending insurgency. Those are our pressing need. I will also say he should remove subsidy.

‘HE NEEDS TO LISTEN TO ADVICE FROM CONCERNED AND REASONABLE NIGERIANS’ – Prophet Olagunroye Faleyimu

President Muhammadu Buhari’s victory was predicted by me ever before the election was postponed. So, his coming into power was a design by the Lord. He has come to fix things but not to damage them just as the previous administration did.

But he needs to listen to advice from concerned and reasonable Nigerians. He should quickly resolve the crisis in the oil sector so that the issue of fuel today, no fuel tomorrow will become history. He should also sign into law the Petroleum Industrial Bill as soon as possible. I will also advise him not to borrow any leaf from the corrupt Jonathan’s administration.

He should also not waste time on ministerial appointments so that he won’t be misled by some greedy Nigerians.

‘THEY SHOULD NOT ALLOW THE GREEDY ELEMENTS AROUND THEM’ – Tunde Awoniyi

First, I congratulate all Nigerians for their victory over poor administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan. I strongly believe that the new government is not business as usual. President Muhammadu Buhari and Professor Yemi Osinajo are compatible hands capable of turning around Nigeria.

My only advice for them is to heed the voice of God in their running of the government. They should not allow the greedy elements around them to dictate the pace of governance to them. The interest of the masses should be paramount in their agenda. I pray God will lead them aright.
