NIGERIANS CONDEMN ABUJA BOMB BLAST (3)

The Thursday, May 1, 2014, repeat bombing of Nyanya, Abuja, Federal Capital Territory by a group of demented people masquerading themselves as Boko Haram, has been condemned nationwide. The repeat of the barbaric and mindless act, almost at the same spot was an indication that the federal government is lackadaisical about the security situation in the country.
ENCOMIUM Weekly sought reactions of some Nigerians again on the incident…

‘This is wickedness in high places’
ESTHER PAUL, Beauty queen
I have been crying since the news of yet another Abuja bomb blast broke. This is wickedness in high places. I think we are losing the battle against the insurgents. And something serious has to be done. Those in government know better.

‘I’m weeping for my dear country’
AUSTINO MILADO, Singer
As I write this, I’m weeping for my dear country, Nigeria. I don’t know how we got here. I’m however optimistic that we shall overcome all of these security challenges. I don’t think Boko Haram can terrorize us if we put our acts together. We, however, need to overhaul our entire security architecture.

‘It’s a very sad occurrence’
BANKE ADEWUNMI, Actress
I feel so sad about the incident. Just few weeks after the Nyanya episode, another one still took place just opposite Nyanya motor park. It’s now gradually getting rampant. To be sincere, I don’t know what the federal government can do to curb the activities of Boko Haram.
I think the best way out is to cry onto God for the protection of this country. It’s a very sad occurrence. May God save us.

‘I feel so sad the way Nigeria is going’
EASY LIZZY, Singer
The bomb blast issue is a huge tragedy that has come over our country. It’s so sad and disheartening that our government could not just do anything about it. It’s now so obvious that we have an incompetent government in place.
The so called Boko Haram guys are now so confident in carrying out their deadly acts because they are so sure they will go scot free.
Personally, I feel so sad the way Nigeria is going. This problem has been on since the emergence of Goodluck Jonathan as the president. May be there are some people out there frustrating his government. The trust is that Nigeria needs the kind of government that can deal with issues with all sense of sincerity.

‘It is getting too much’
OJO ADEWALE
It is getting too much, whoever is behind this should state their case instead of killing innocent Nigerians.

‘It is a sign that the Boko Haram sect are more intelligent’
TAIWO SOMEFUN
May God help us in this country, it is a sign that the Boko Haram sect are more intelligent than our security operatives.

‘If the incident were to be at Aso Rock…’
LYDIA SAULA
It’s a sad occurrence which shows the level of unseriousnees and insensitivity of the government to the plight of the masses. If the incident were to be at Aso Rock am sure they will not spare the perpetrators. They will be fished out immediately. I enjoin government to take drastic action and prove to us they care about us.

‘It shows they don’t care about the safety of lives and property’
YINKA ADEWUNMI
It was a national embarrassment and tragic. I was shocked that government could allow such thing to happen in the same vicinity. It shows they don’t care about the safety of lives and property.

‘They are within the government’
BIDEMI OSUNSAN
Boko Haram is a threat to this government and truly speaking, they are within the government. Who then will stop them? I don’t pray for trouble, but if this people gain more power, the way things are going, I foresee a serious problem.
