Nigerians in London to celebrate High Commissioner, Dr. Dalhatu Sarki Tafida

-Start fight against ‘African Time Syndrome’

NIGERIANS in Diaspora are poised to start a new campaign against ‘African Time Syndrome’ and to celebrate the life of the Nigerian High Commissioner to the UK, Dr. Dalhatu Tafida. This event will be carried out under a new platform called Eminent Nigerian Series.  The ‘Eminent Nigerians Series,’ a new initiative of the Nigerian Diaspora Direct Investment Summit (NIDDS), UK to help drive a new ethical revolution in Nigeria and will be launched in London on the December 18, 2014.

The project seeks to identify, report, promote and publicize specific actions, attitudes and achievements of worthy Nigerians who are role models as examples worthy of emulation to the new generation for the development of Nigeria. The main purpose is to start a quiet ethical campaign that will help the youth embrace new code of conduct that can translate Nigeria to glory. The first in this series is: ‘The Legacy of Dr. Dalhatu Sarki Tafida, OFR, CFR: A time Conscious Disciplinarian’.

The Nigeria High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Dr. Dalhatu Sarki Tafida OFR, CFR is notable for his work ethics. From his humble beginnings to his prestigious position now, the hallmarks of his work ethics have been, and remain impeccable time consciousness and time management and zero tolerance for corruption and lack of discipline.

The launching of this book coincides with his birthday which comes up some days before the event and the NDDIS, the biggest investment summit in the Diaspora will be seizing the opportunity to celebrate his life as a successful Nigerian statesman who has really impacted on the lives of others. This is a very high profile event in London and will be taking place at a prestigious hotel in Central London.

Speaking to our Correspondent in Lagos, Nigeria, Kemi Otegbade, MIoD, the Head Consultant of Heartlink Group, and the Nigerian partner of NDDIS says “the event has received the goodwill and endorsement of Corporate Nigeria and some government agencies, especially Kaduna State where Dr. Dalhatu Tafida hails from. We at Heartlink, renowned as major promoter of projects that advance the Nigerian Cause are proud to be associated with the legacies of Dr. Tafida. This is why we are partnering with NDDIS to represent their interests in Nigeria and to promote this worthy cause.

The Vice President of Nigeria, Namadi Sambo is expected to chair this event and his friends and high profile Nigerians like Governors, Ministers, Parliamentarians, Politicians from the various divides and several other business gurus are expected to attend.

The book will be sold in all schools (at all levels), government offices and at airports in Nigeria and all over the Diaspora.

The Chairman of the Central Association of Nigerians in the UK who is also the Executive Director of the NDDIS, Bimbo Roberts Folayan  says that this project is being embarked on to celebrate and thank Dr. Dalhatu Tafida on one hand and to also show Nigerians that Nigeria is not short of heroes. The book was authored by Dr Nkem Ezeilo, a UK-based General Practitioner and well known wellness expert and author.

The NDDIS is also partnering with the Business Council of Africa and the International Strategic Alliance on this project.
