Nigerians lambast Jonathan over 2015 elections’ statement

Reactions have trailed former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s statement about how Prof. Attahiru Jega, former Independent National Electoral Commission boss disappointed him during the 2015 elections. Most Nigerians do not see the need for the statement and therefore condemned  the speech saying it’s baseless.

Encomium.ng brings you Nigerians’ views on this issue.

Olushola Oluwafemi

It’s not surprising that Jonathan is saying all this. Politics is a shady business, Jonathan must have made some dirty moves to remain in power. He is only disappointed because the man (Jega) didn’t dance to his tune.

Okezie Margaret

Maybe he is actually saying the truth. We can’t trust Jega completely, they (Jonathan and Jega) must have had a deal on how to run the election back in 2015, but Jega backstabbed him.

Joshua Efe

The statement made by the ex- President is not sweet to the hear. What is it that he asked Jega to do that he didn’t do? Things like this should not be encouraged. After all, he succeeded in postponing the election then. So what’s the ranting all about. That man should go and find somewhere to sit.

Effiong David

It is rather too late for this kind of thing. Jonathan should have said all these before he conceded defeat. His claim is of no use, or is he trying to tell Jega how to carry out his duties? The election has come and gone, he should let sleeping dog lie.

Adegbite Alex

We don’t want to hear anything from him. When he knows that Jega didn’t do well in the election, why did he accept defeat in the first place? That’s campaign after election.

Al-Ameen Omolara

He has nothing to say, he just wants Nigerians to remember that there is someone bearing Jonathan. After all, the election was postponed as suggested by him and he accepted the result as well.

Okunola Ganiu

What gave him the assurance that if those 40% also got their voters’ card, that he would win? What happened in Nigeria was predestined.

There must be something fishy between them, if not, he would not say such a thing. Maybe he wanted Jega to rig the election for him, or what is he trying to say?
