Some Nigerians have labeled the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) traitors for the union’s inability to force the Federal Government to review the hike in petrol price to N145 per litre.
It would be recalled that the Government on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 officially removed its subsidy on petrol and pegged the official price of the commodity to a maximum of N145 per litre.
The NLC released a statement same day, rejecting the new price even as it disclosed that it would come to a decision on its next move today, (Friday, May 13, 2016) after its meetings with the Pengasson, NUPENG & Trade Union Congress.
