Nigerians unimpressed with Kemi Adeosun’s defence of Buhari’s economic policy

Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, was on Channels TV where she spoke on economic challenges the Buhari administration was facing.

She also reacted to claims by former Education Minister, Oby Ezekwesili, that the Buhari-led administration was operating opaque and archaic economic policies. Ezekwesili had on Saturday April 30th during her speech at an Abuja event, accused the Buhari-led government of applying the command and rule system of governance that he once used when he was a military leader.

“I disagree with Mrs Ezekwesili. The present government has a planned economy and does not operate a command and control economic system as alleged by the former minister. There are no quick solutions to the current economic woes. We are going to pump N350 billion into the economy until we see growth. The job will be done painstakingly, and we will come out of it better,” she said.

Many Nigerians in their reaction to the interview however, were left unimpressed with the Minister’s promise that the economy will improve in due course, insisting that they were tired of promises while few others agreed with her.
