mercy johnsonBorn in August 1984 in Lagos, she made her acting debut in the movie, The Maid, where she played the role of possessed house keeper.  Her performance in the movie shot her to limelight.  Some of her other blockbusters include, Thy Will be Done, Live to Remember, Guilty Pleasures.  Her dexterity has fetched her lots of recognitions beyond the shores of Nigeria.  And she is constantly on the lips of many within and outside the industry.

Mercy, a native of Okene, is of an Ebira extraction in Kogi State.  The gorgeous thespian who once revealed she ventured into acting when she failed her university entrance examinations has put that behind herself as she has become a celebrated Nollywood star even without a university degree.  She has appeared in over 100 movies, grossing about N50m in 2012.  In 2013, she earned about N13m.  That same year, she featured in Emem Isong’s hit movie, Guilty Pleasures.

A model and former Globacom ambassador has proved that she is in the industry to make a mark which she has done with her uncommon hard work.

She got married to her sweetheart, Prince Odianosen Okojie in 2011, amid heavy controversy. However, the marriage has so far been blessed with two lovely kids, Purity and Henry.

In 2013, Mercy got a Lexus SUV gift from her hubby after the birth of her first child, Purity.  Also, to show her how he cherished the fact that she had a baby boy, her husband added another exotic car to her auto collections, a Range Rover Sport, as a gift for giving him a male child.

The fantastic role interpreter is also said to be a passionate investor in property.  She made waves a couple of years ago as she reportedly completed two buildings at once, both in Lagos.  Arguably, however, Mercy is one of the highest paid Nollywood stars right now.  Contrary to expectation of some of her fans, her marriage has not hindered her career as she is constantly on demand by movie producers.
