NOLLYWOOD, the world’s second largest movie industry, may be down but definitely not out. With some of its players cornering fame and mega bucks, they have carved a niche for themselves, while many watched and applauded their creative exploits.
And using subjective criteria like movie appearance, commercial value and popularity, ENCOMIUM Weekly unveils some of Nollywood’s bankable actors right now.
IK OGBONNA
Ikechukwu Mitchel Ogbonna is the new Nollywood fine boy. IK, as he is popularly called, is known for his lover boy and bad guy roles in movies. IK, who was once rumoured to be a gigolo, told ENCOMIUM Weekly in an interview, “If they call me a gigolo, they should bring out whose mother I have slept with.”
2014 was a busy year for the model cum actor who featured in movies like My Rich Boyfriend, Derimas Dilemma, Wrong Selfies, Misplaced Desires and Ikogosi, the last turn on the left.
He also won some awards including Avant Garde Revolutionary Actor of the Year, Cynosure Best Actor/Model and Ping Recognition Awards. IK was also nominated for Best Actor in Drama at Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
