Chief Olusegun Obasanjo was at pains in his book to stress that the difficulty encountered during the transition from Alhaji Umar Musa Yar’ Adua to Dr. Goodluck Jonathan as acting president was mainly due to Yar’Adua’s decision to keep the severity of his illness secret.
He argued in “My Watch’, his controversial new autobiography that the decision smacks of ignorance of what the job entails. To buttress his point, he added that the illness of a president cannot be regarded as private as his health has implications for the security and wellbeing of a nation.
