One of the alleged lovers who died in a car finally buried

The family of Lukman Olowu, one of the alleged lovers found dead in Ogba (Ikeja, Lagos) on Sunday, October 29, 2017, have finally succeeded in getting his body for burial from Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) where it was deposited since about two weeks ago.

An inside source who disclosed this to encomium.ng said it took the family extra efforts in getting the corpse released to them as the actual cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.

“Lukman’s family members have succeeded in claiming his body back for burial. I learned the corpse was released to them on Wednesday, November 8, around 1 pm and was buried around 4 pm, according to Muslim rites. I learned they couldn’t have released Lukman’s body because the result of the autopsy conducted on the body is yet to be out but with the intervention of some influential individuals, it had to be released yesterday. I am not sure if Nse Promise’s body was equally released yesterday because I don’t think there was any pressure from her family end to that effect. But hopefully, her corpse will also be released soon because I learned the reports of the autopsy will soon be out.”

Confirming the development, encomium.ng contacted Lukman’s brother, Ibrahim Olowu today, Thursday, November 9, 2017, and he said, “Yes, the body has been released to us. It was released yesterday, Wednesday, November 8, 2017, and it has since been buried. We’re grateful to you for calling all the time.”

On the latest concerning the autopsy’s report, he reacted, “They said it will take two weeks before the result is out. That’s what we’re waiting for now. But we thank God we have finally collected the body and it has been buried while we wait for the outcome of the police investigation for us to know the next step.”
