Ogun Info Ministry will perform beyond “Ogun Standard” – Adeneye

Ogun State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Adedayo Adeneye has expressed his Ministry’s readiness to work round the clock to project the activities and programmes of Government even beyond “Ogun standard policy” initiated by the State Government.

The Commissioner gave the assurance while meeting with Information Officers, Directors and Media aides at Governor’s Office Press Centre, Oke-mosan, Abeokuta.

Adeneye said the Ministry is the mouth piece of the Government which propagates the programmes and activities of Government, adding that apart from the usual mode of disseminating information to the populace, new innovations would be introduced while officers would also be trained on new techniques of managing information in order to be effective in the discharge of their duties.

“Let not forget that we are saddled with the responsibility of projecting the image of the Government, so we must all contribute our quota by maximizing our potentials to achieve beyond Ogun Standard policy being initiated by the present administration led by Senator Ibikunle Amosun” he said.

He also expressed his readiness to increase the IGR of the Ministry through on-line Publication of Ogun Update, a monthly News Magazine of the Ministry, through which all Government activities are publicised.

On the welfare of the officers, Adeneye promised to celebrate excellent performance and provide a conducive working environment for members of staff of the Ministry in order to achieve the ultimate goal of rebuilding the State.

He however charged officers to be proactive and remain committed to their duties irrespective of the challenges they face in discharging their duties.

Earlier in his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr Ibikunle Onasanya urged the officers to be punctual at work and be responsible officers.

‘’Your report must focus on Government activities and your message must increase the understanding of the people and decrease every uncertainty”

Responding on behalf of the Information Officers, the Chairman Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) Information Chapel, Mrs Seun Boye appreciated the Commissioner for his words of advice, while pledging that the Officers would have a good working relationship with the Commissioner, assuring that they would be dedicated to their duties and shun any act of immorality.
