Ogun Information Commissioner assures on restoration of core values

Ogun State Ministry of Information and Strategy says it is irrevocably committed to repositioning the State back to its old glory through reawakening of the people to embrace the State’s core values.

The State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Otunba Dayo Adeneye stated this while defending the ministry’s  N610m  2017 budget estimate before the members of the State House of Assembly Committee on Finance and Appropriation led by Hon. Akanbi Bankole at the Assembly Complex, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta.

Adeneye, who assured that the new fiscal year would see to improved service, said the Ministry being the public relations agency to all arms of government would continue to serve as the channel in two-way means of communication between the government and the governed.

He said that the Ministry would make copious use of various strategies that could be effectively used to mobilize the entire citizenry for positive development, noting that efforts were in top gear to ensure the branding of the State to leverage on the successes achieved on developmental projects.

‘’The Public Address Equipment (PAE) Vans available at the ministry have continued to give impetus to official programmes by providing needed publicity for government activities and we have been able to expand our feedback units by providing more phones and increase the staffs of the unit,’’ the Commissioner explained.

Otunba Adeneye further disclosed that the ministry intended to upgrade its editing suite to fit into OGBC and OGTV digital compliance, installation of new equipment like Digital Cameras, Projectors for monitoring and efficient service delivery.

The next financial year according to him, would also see to the creation of the Ministry’s Digital Colour Photo Laboratory to promote quality service delivery, disclosing that he had proposed a total of N150m as capital expenditure for the year.

Further breakdown of the ministry’s budget indicated that recurrent expenditure stood at N260m; while N200m would take care of overhead.
