Ogun keen on developing the grassroots – Adeneye

In demonstration of its commitment to the development of rural areas, Ogun State Government says it is committed to embark on significant projects that would improve the rural life at the grassroots.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Chief Dayo Adeneye stated this at the anniversary lecture and grassroots development special award organised by the Gateway News Update held at Iwe-Iroyin in Abeokuta.

Chief Adeneye who won the award of outstanding Commissioner in Ogun at 40, said ‘’Government has realise that there can be no meaningful development without grassroots development which is an integral part of nation building, hence the development of the grassroots cannot be over emphasised”.

The Commissioner, represented by the Special Assistant to the Governor on Information and Strategy, Mr. Yemisi Fadairo maintained that grassroots development was key to the industrial drive of the Government at the local level, noting that the Amosun-led administration has set in motion, the creation of 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) to complement the development drive of the 20 Local Government areas,

The Chairman, Civil Service Commission, Dr. (Mrs.) Adenroke Folarin bagged the award of the most outstanding Commission Chairman since the creation of the State.

In her response, Dr. (Mrs) Folarin appreciated the organisers for putting up such magnificent line of programme, adding that recognition of outstanding individual performances could only bring out the best in them.
