The Nigerian Labour Congress, Ogun state chapter has suspended its strike in the state after 11 days. This was disclosed on Wednesday, March 16, 2016. NLC’s Chairman, Akeem Ambali confirmed the development, stating that it was mainly for the governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun to address the demands of the labour in the state.
He further explained that the suspension of the strike was due to the intervention of high dignitaries, including members of the State House of Assembly and several traditional rulers in the state.
The industrial action which started on Saturday, March 6, 2016, is said to be as a result of unpaid salaries and protest of illegal reduction from their salaries.
The worker’s claim that the government of the state has refused to pay them up till now.
